Punch Face — a fist lands on the cheek.
Punch Face sends a fist in from the left edge of the frame and into the subject's cheek. The sample is a reel of two runs. It opens on a young man with thick, wavy black hair and a light grey shirt, filmed at arm's length indoors. In the second run a cream-coloured cat outdoors takes the same hit.
The sample
What happens in the Punch Face sample.
In the first run, the man looks straight at the lens, one arm out as if holding the camera. A fist enters from the left and presses into his cheek. His face squashes, his lips push sideways and a white puff bursts out on the far side. He then turns away with his eyes shut as the fist pulls back. The second run is shot from a low, wide angle under a blue sky and a yellow tree. A cat with a cigarette in its mouth and smoke curling above takes the same fist to the cheek, squints and sticks out its tongue.
Both subjects keep their look. The man's hair, shirt and room stay the same, and so do the cat's fur, the tree and the sky. The camera barely moves, and only the face reacts. Since the fist comes from the left in both runs and lands on the cheek, a photo where the face fills much of the frame, with the side of the face in clear view, gives the hit a place to land.

Your photo
Photos that suit it.
One-tap effects have one input. The photo you pick is your creative control.
Close, selfie-style framing
Both runs in the sample are tight shots where the face takes up much of the frame. A close-up selfie is the nearest thing to that.
Leave room on the left
The fist enters from the left edge in both runs. A little space on that side of the face matches the sample.
A person or a pet
One run shows a man and the other a cat, so a photo of a single person or a single pet fits what the sample shows.
