Baby Face — the child version of you.

A real Baby Face render made in King AI — 3 seconds on the PixVerse engine, generated from one portrait with no editing afterwards.

Baby Face takes a portrait and de-ages the person in it. In the sample above an adult brings both hands to his cheeks and, by the last frame, is a child with the same hair colour, the same shirt and the same beach behind him. The engine keeps what identifies you and rewrites the age.

Inside the effect

What the Baby Face effect actually does.

Baby Face is a PixVerse preset: the instruction is fixed inside the engine and does not change between runs. It reads the face in your photo, plays a short gesture — in the sample, hands to the cheeks — and resolves into a child's version of the same face, keeping hair colour, clothing and setting.

What makes it land is the continuity. The result is not a random child; it is recognisably the same person with the years removed, which is why the choice of photo matters more than anything else you could do.

It takes exactly one photo of one person. The face carries the whole effect, so the closer and clearer the face, the better the likeness in the child.

Source photos

Photos that work, and photos that don't.

One-tap effects have one input. Which photo you pick is the whole of your creative control.

One clear face

A single person, filling a good part of the frame, looking near the camera. The likeness is built from the face; give it plenty.

Head and shoulders

The gesture is hands to face. If the shoulders are in frame the hands have somewhere to come from.

Even, soft light

Hard shadows across the face get read as features and can survive into the child's face.

Nothing covering the face

Sunglasses, masks and hands already on the face all hide what the engine needs to de-age.

Failure modes

Where it goes wrong.

The three ways this particular effect disappoints people, and what causes each one.

Group photos fail first. With two or more faces the engine de-ages one and leaves the others drifting.

Strong makeup and heavy beards are ambiguous to the effect — it has to decide what is face and what is on it — and the child sometimes inherits a version of them.

Very small faces in wide shots lose the likeness; the child is a child, but not clearly you.

How it works

Running Baby Face in four steps.

01

Pick a clear, front-facing portrait

Head and shoulders, one person, face well lit.

02

Open Fun & Viral or Trending and tap Baby Face

It sits on the Trending shelf and in Fun & Viral.

03

Choose the length and resolution

5 or 8 seconds, 720p or 1080p. Generate — 3 credits, what a free account earns each day.

04

Try a second photo, not a second roll

The variation between photos is bigger than between runs of the same photo.

FAQ

Baby Face, answered.

What does the Baby Face effect do?

It de-ages the person in a portrait into a child version of themselves over a short clip, keeping hair colour, clothing and background. It runs on the PixVerse engine and takes one photo.

How much does the Baby Face effect cost?

3 credits per run, about $1.20 at the credit-pack rate. New accounts get 3 free credits every day, so a free account can run it once a day.

What resolution and length does it produce?

720p or 1080p, at 5 or 8 seconds, in the aspect ratio of your photo. Nothing you export is watermarked.

Does it work on photos of children?

The effect is written to make the subject younger. A child in the photo becomes a younger child, which is usually less striking than the adult-to-child change the effect is known for.

Can I do the reverse — make myself older?

Not with this effect; its instruction only goes one way. The photo effects in King AI include an age-shift preset for stills, and the Fun & Viral category has other transformation templates for video.
